Privacy & Security
How we keep your conversations and data safe.
Our commitment to you
Privacy isn't an afterthought — it's central to how we built EasyClaw. We believe your conversations with your AI assistant should be just that: yours.
Whether you use our desktop app or cloud console, we've designed EasyClaw to minimize data collection and keep you in control.
Your data stays yours
We don't sell, share, or use your conversations to train AI models. Ever.
Local-first option
The desktop app runs entirely on your computer. We never see your messages.
Encrypted in transit
All communication between your devices and services uses modern encryption.
Transparent practices
We tell you exactly what data flows where, with no hidden tracking.
Security by deployment
Desktop App — Maximum Privacy
When you use the desktop app, everything runs on your own computer. Your messages, your AI conversations, and your connected accounts never touch our servers.
- •All processing happens locally on your machine
- •Messages only go to your chosen AI provider
- •No accounts with us required
- •Your credentials stay on your device
Cloud Console — Convenient & Secure
Our cloud service runs in isolated containers with strict security measures. While messages do pass through our infrastructure, they're encrypted and not stored beyond your active session.
- •Isolated container per user session
- •All connections encrypted with TLS
- •Session data deleted when you disconnect
- •Hosted on secure infrastructure in Europe
What about the AI providers?
When you chat with your AI, your messages are sent to your chosen provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google) to generate responses. Each provider has their own privacy policy.
Good news for privacy-conscious users:
When you use the API (which EasyClaw does), major AI providers like Anthropic and OpenAI do not use your conversations to train their models by default. This is different from their free consumer products.
Best practices
Keep your access keys private
Your AI provider keys are like passwords. Don't share them, and if you think one might be compromised, regenerate it from your provider's dashboard.
Be mindful of what you share
Even though conversations are private, avoid sharing highly sensitive information like credit card numbers, social security numbers, or passwords with any AI.
Control who can message your AI
If you've connected WhatsApp or Signal, consider limiting which contacts can interact with your AI assistant. This prevents unexpected usage or surprises.
Keep your computer secure
For desktop app users, your security is only as strong as your computer's. Use a strong password, keep your system updated, and be careful with what you download.
